Attorney Martinez Procures Minor Child to be reunited with Mother!

When a child is “sheltered” by the State, via the Department of Children and Families, and put into foster care, the parents must navigate an endless bureaucracy of red tape for up to a year (sometimes longer) in order for them to be reunited with their child or face the termination of their parental rights.

Once the State does get involved, it can be a living nightmare for a parent. Between the Department of Children and Families, the Guardian ad Litem Department, all the providers, the judge, and legal process, it is common for a parent to get lost in the abyss, prolonging the process of being reunited with their loved ones, or worse: losing their parental rights all together.

In a recent case, a Mother’s daughter was sheltered. In a few short months, the daughter was placed in multiple homes to the exclusion of her Mother. On the eve of yet another placement, Attorney Jorge Martinez of Mackey Law Group was able to petition the court to reunify the minor child early, over the objections of the State. A hearing took place and Mackey Law Group’s client was victorious!

A Mackey Law Group attorney can help you navigate the process and advocate on your behalf. In the above case, we were able to fight for the Mother and reunite her with her daughter.
