Catherine Z. Mackey, Esquire
Cathie has been an attorney for over 35 years. She is well versed in real estate contracts and closings, loan workouts and other real estate transactions. Her commercial litigation experience provides her with a unique insight as to what is necessary for contracts and loan documents.
Cathie is a 1979 “Hall of Fame” graduate from Manatee High School. She attended and graduated from Florida State University in 1983. She has been a licensed Florida attorney since 1987, graduating from the University of Miami in 1986 with her law degree. Cathie began her legal career in Tampa. After marrying Peter in 1988, they moved to Bradenton, where she opened Mackey Law Group. The law firm is now 30+ years old and growing. Cathie continues to be the firm’s managing partner. She still practices in the area of real estate and transactional law, while having an extensive litigation background as well.
Among her many accomplishments, Cathie was instrumental in litigating and ultimately facilitating Manatee County’s procurement of Emerson Point, a waterfront Park enjoyed by the community.
Cathie is a fourth generation native of Bradenton. In addition, Cathie, her grandmother, her mother and one of her daughters, all attended FSU. Cathie and Peter reside in Holmes Beach and enjoy spending time on their boat and Harleys. Two of the triplets are now in graduate school; one in medical school (FSU) and the other in law school (University of Miami).
Cathie is admitted to practice in Florida and the U.S. Federal Court system.
