Cathie Mackey is a fourth-generation Bradenton native and a proud Hall of Fame graduate of Manatee High School (1979). She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications with a minor in Humanities from Florida State University in 1983, and her law degree from the University of Miami.
Cathie began her legal career in Tampa, litigating for the Law Office of Dale Swope. After moving to Bradenton with her husband, Peter, she founded Mackey Law Group in 1991, later bringing Peter on board. Over the years, she has tried numerous bench and jury trials, successfully resolving complex disputes for her clients, and played a key role in securing Emerson Point Park for Manatee County.
As managing partner, Cathie oversees all aspects of the firm and primarily practices in real estate, probate, and estate planning. She is a licensed title agent with The FUND and WFG National Title Insurance Company and has extensive experience handling all types of real estate contracts, closings, and loan workouts for both individuals and financial institutions. Under her leadership, the firm’s probate and trust & estate practice continues to grow rapidly.
Cathie is admitted to the Florida Bar – Real Property, Probate, and Trust Section, the Manatee County Bar Association, and the United States Federal Court for the Middle District of Florida.
Outside the office, Cathie and Peter enjoy boating along Florida’s coast and are proud parents of four children, including triplets, all pursuing successful paths of their own.
